Publication Ethics
The Journal of Interdisciplinary Community Empowerment (JICE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, ensuring transparency, integrity, and accountability in all stages of the publishing process. We uphold ethical guidelines for authors, reviewers, and editors to promote a fair and unbiased academic environment.
Author Responsibilities
Authors submitting to JICE must ensure that their work is original, accurate, and free from plagiarism. All sources and contributions of others must be properly cited, and authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously. Authors should disclose any conflicts of interest and must ensure that their research complies with ethical standards, particularly in regard to human subjects or animal research. Authors are also responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have consented to the submission and the order of authorship.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to provide a thorough and unbiased evaluation of manuscripts based on their academic merit. Reviews should be objective, respectful, and focused on the quality of the research. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and avoid using any information from the manuscript for personal gain. If a reviewer feels unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or has any conflicts of interest, they must notify the editor and recuse themselves from the review process.
Editor Responsibilities
Editors of JICE are responsible for making fair, impartial, and evidence-based decisions about the publication of manuscripts. Editors ensure that all submitted articles undergo a rigorous peer-review process and are evaluated based on academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editors must also respect confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest throughout the publication process. In cases of ethical misconduct, the editor is obligated to investigate and take appropriate actions in line with the journal's policies.
Ethical Considerations
JICE adheres to established ethical standards in the publication process and takes seriously any allegations of unethical behavior such as plagiarism, data falsification, or fabrication. Any violations of publication ethics will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate corrective measures, including retraction or correction of articles, may be taken as necessary.
We encourage transparency and aim to provide a platform for research that positively impacts community engagement and development while upholding the principles of academic integrity.
